Vehicle Hit and Killed Bicyclist after Crash on Genesee Avenue and Chickasaw Court
San Diego, CA (July 24, 2021) – A crash on Genesee Avenue and Chickasaw Court killed an e-bike rider on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place on July 23 near the intersection of Genesee Avenue and Chickasaw Court at about 5:31 p.m.
According to San Diego Police Department, the collision involved a vehicle and an e-bicycle rider.
The cyclist reportedly made a sudden move to the left, into the number 1 northbound lane. Thus, the rider violated the driver’s right-of-way.
As a result, the vehicle struck the rider identified as an adult man. Police said the medics transported him to a hospital for treatments. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
His identification is being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
