Connie Levinson Killed and 5 Hurt in Van Nuys Accident, Luis Carrillo-Castaneda Arrested for Murder
VAN NUYS, CA (October 25, 2021) – Sunday night, Connie Levinson, 53, died in a street takeover crash on Woodley Avenue and Saticoy Street.
According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart, witnesses called in the fatal accident at around 8:05 p.m.
Moreover, it took place at 7600 Woodley Avenue at Saticoy Street.
Reports revealed that a 2007 black Chevy Tahoe fleeing police from a street racing takeover struck a restaurant.
Furthermore, responders pronounced a woman inside, Woodland Hills resident Ms. Levinson, dead at the scene. Paramedics confirmed that five people sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Later reports identified the assailant as Luis Carrillo-Castaneda, 18. Moreover, police arrested him for murder at the scene. On Tuesday, they charged him with both murder and reckless driving. He is set to be arraigned at the Van Nuys Courthouse.
Meanwhile, officers released no further details on the other injured parties. Thus, their current condition is not known.
