Coachella Man Dies in Bicycle Crash on Grapefruit Boulevard [Indio, CA]

Indio, CA (December 9, 2023) – A 54-year-old male bicyclist from Coachella was killed following a bicycle crash on Grapefruit Boulevard Thursday night.

The fatal hit-and-run collision happened at about 11 p.m. in the 54000 block area, north of Palm Street.

Officers said that a southbound vehicle on Grapefruit Boulevard collided with the bicyclist while riding a southbound bicycle on the same road.

The vehicle fled the scene leaving the bicyclist in the roadway.

 Moreover, a second vehicle also collided with the bicyclist. The driver of the second vehicle stopped and called 911.

In the meantime, the authorities do not have the of the hit-and-run vehicle or motorist. They ask anyone with details on the case to call CHP Officer Windsor at 760-772-5300.
