Deadly Rollover Crash in Coachella
COACHELLA, CA (January 30, 2019) – A 40-year-old Redlands man was killed Sunday morning following a rollover crash on the 10 Freeway near Cactus City.
The unidentified fatal victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the cabin. Paramedics responded to the scene just after 3:30 a.m. and pronounced him dead.
A 45-year-old woman and the Redlands man were in a 1996 Hyundai Elantra heading eastbound on the 10 Freeway when for unknown reasons the Hyundai veered to the left and plowed into a guardrail before overturning in the center median.
The passenger suffered only minor injuries and was brought to Desert Regional Medical Center.
The identity of the driver will be released once the next of kin has been notified. Authorities are investigating this case further to determine the exact cause of the crash.
