CHP Officer Seriously Injured in Collision on E Avenue M [Lancaster, CA]

Lancaster, CA (October 18, 2024) – A CHP officer sustained injuries following a collision on E Avenue M Tuesday afternoon.

It was about 1:15 p.m. when the traffic collision happened near the intersection at Challenger Way.

Troopers said a motorcycle officer was traveling west when a Jeep Cherokee parked on the southbound side of Challenger Way pulled out in front of him.  

The officer was not able to avoid a collision and struck the Jeep. 

As a result, the officer was ejected from the motorcycle and collided with a Nissan Sentra that was stopped at the intersection on East Avenue M.

The officer then landed on the roadway.

Moreover, the rescuers rushed to the scene and transported the officer to an area hospital with major injuries. 

Investigators expect the injured officer to recover.  

Meanwhile, no arrests have been made in connection with the Lancaster motorcycle crash and no one else was injured.
