72-Year-Old Man Dead in Fresno Auto Accident on Belmont Avenue and Chestnut Avenue

FRESNO, CA (February 9, 2022) – Tuesday, 72-year-old Chou Vang of Fresno died in a hit-and-run crash on Belmont Avenue and Chestnut Avenue.

The accident happened on Belmont Avenue and Chestnut Avenue. According to reports, Vang rode a light-colored vehicle driving north on Belmont Avenue. Then, an eastbound pickup truck failed to yield at a red light and hit Vang’s vehicle.

As a result, Chou Vang, a Fresno resident, died at the scene. Meanwhile, responders took another occupant of the vehicle to the hospital in critical condition.

According to the investigators, the 29-year-old male pickup truck driver fled on foot. However, bystanders followed the driver as he escaped which helped the police find the driver. Then, they took him into custody.
