CHP Investigates a Fatal Crash on Interstate 80 in Davis
Davis, CA (December 2, 2021) – Thursday morning, a 1-year-old child died, and three others sustained injuries in a crash on Interstate 80.
The fatal crash in Davis happened at around 4:30 a.m.
Dispatch logged it in on December 2, near Richards Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol said a Toyota Avalon going east on I-80 crashed into the center divider, by Richards Boulevard.
A box truck and a Toyota Tacoma then struck the Avalon.
As a result, the 1-year-old girl inside the Avalon was ejected from the car.
Paramedics said she died at the scene.
Moreover, both the driver and passenger sustained serious injuries and were sent to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Tacoma driver also sustained minor injuries.
Additionally, the box truck driver remained uninjured.
CHP investigators said they believe fog may have been a factor in the crash.
Further investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
