4-Year-Old Child Injured in East University Boulevard Collision [Odessa, TX]

Odessa, TX (March 23, 2024) – A 4-year-old girl passenger and a driver were injured following an East University Boulevard collision Wednesday.

It was about 12:39 p.m. when a Toyota and a Lincoln collision happened on Andrews Highway.

Investigators said a gray Toyota SUV was eastbound in the 100 block of East University Boulevard when a black Lincoln SUV attempting to turn east onto East University Boulevard failed to yield the right of way. 

As a result, the two vehicles collided and the impact sent the unrestrained four-year-old Toyota passenger to strike the windshield.

The rescuers rushed the Toyota driver and the four-year-old passenger to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

No other people have been injured in this collision.

Moreover, the authorities cited the Lincoln driver for failing to yield the right of way from a private driveway. The Toyota was cited for no proof of insurance and no seatbelt (for passengers under 17 years of age in a passenger vehicle).
