12-Year-Old Fatally Struck by Bus in Goodyear on 144th Avenue and Indian School Road

 
GOODYEAR, AZ (November 19, 2019) — A 12-year-old boy died Friday afternoon when a school bus struck him near 144th Avenue and Indian School Road.
 
According to police, the victim’s name has yet to be confirmed. However, according to a GoFundMe page, he goes by the name Peyton.
 
Authorities investigating the details of this crash have thus far determined that the boy was perhaps hit by the school bus while in a crosswalk. The driver, who authorities determined had not been impaired, turned onto Indian School Road on a green light.
 
According to a witness, the bus trapped a skateboard beneath the undercarriage.
 
Others remember the child, a student of Litchfield Elementary School District, as an outgoing, helpful and kind person.
 
Officials plan to investigate this crash further and urge witnesses to come forward.
