Bellingham, WA (October 14, 2021) – This afternoon, minor injuries were reported in the Whatcom Transportation Authority passenger van crash on Interstate 5

The authorities responded to the crash scene at about 1:30 p.m. near the Ohio Street on-ramp.

Responding officers said four cars were involved in the crash involving a dump truck.

Officers said a smaller red car was entering the freeway at Iowa Street when it lost control and rotated sideways. 

A Chevrolet Equinox, Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) passenger van, and a dump truck with a trailer in the main lanes were unable to avoid crashing with the smaller vehicle. 

As a result, the Chevrolet ended up on its side.

Luckily, the drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles during the crash and sustained only minor injuries. The paramedics rushed the Chevrolet driver by ambulance to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.
