Injuries Reported in Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash on Big Bear Boulevard
Big Bear Lake, CA (January 19, 2024) On Tuesday evening, 18-year-old Cerine Garcia of Victorville died and 3 others were hurt in a 2-vehicle crash on Big Bear Boulevard.
According to the Big Bear Sheriff’s Office, the tragic traffic collision happened around 6:13 p.m. on Big Bear Boulevard, east of Stanfield Cutoff.
Reports say that a black Lexus and a beige Nissan were involved in the fatal collision. Officials say that the vehicles were traveling on the opposite direction when they collided.
Authorities say that the driver of the Lexus was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, while Garcia, the passenger on the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, the Nissan’s driver and passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Bear Valley Community Hospital, officials say that they were later released from the hospital.
Moreover, Garcia’s sister started a GoFundMe page to help with the funeral expenses.
Officials are investigating the fatal crash and have not released further information at this time.
