Cecilia Ayala Dies in Carquinez Bridge Car Crash

 
Crokett, CA (June 18, 2020) – Cecilia Ayala has been identified as the fourth victim in the accident on Interstate 80 that resulted in a car veering off the Carquinez Bridge.
 
Contra Costa County officials identified the deceased early this week.
 
The two males victims were identified as Christopher Mata, from Rodeo, and Kyle Erickson, from Pittsburg.
 
Meanwhile, the female victims were Perla Navarro of Richmond, and Cecilia Ayala, from Hayward.
 
Shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Navarro drove an Infiniti sport utility vehicle that entered the Carquinez Bridge. Just then, the vehicle started swerving as it moved from the far-left lane.
 
It went out across all lanes and over the railing.
 
Indeed, the vehicle plunged about 15 stories. It struck a stationary freight train before it landed.
 
CHP officers checked the footage, yet, they are not yet sure of the reason behind the crash.
 
CHP officer Miguel Camarena said the two women were seating on front seats and the two men in the back.
 
Moreover, CHP said, Navarro, Ayala, Mota, and Erickson all died at the scene. The SUV landed on a stationary train and bumped off that into the ground.
 
Surprisingly, it did not hit any other vehicles on the road, even though it went across all the lanes.
 
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office conducted autopsies on all four. The final reports will not be released for several weeks.

Meanwhile, Naliah Drake, the organizer of one of the fundraisers, wrote: “We all had the best time together. This past quarantine we all got to spend extra time together and make many memories that we will take with us in our hearts forever. None of them deserved to go so soon.”
 
Moreover, Krystal Jennings created a fundraiser for Ayala. She wrote that Ayala had a “soul shined so bright” and “was an incredible human being who had nothing but kindness in her heart.”
