Woman, Horse Hospitalized in Caruthers Collision
CARUTHERS, CA (November 30, 2018) – A woman riding a horse suffered minor injuries after a driver struck the horse at West Tahoe Avenue and Quince Thursday evening.
Just before 6 p.m., a man and a woman were riding two separate horses at the intersection, approaching a street sign, when the girl’s horse had become startled for unknown reasons.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the horse walked several feet back into the road and was clipped by an oncoming vehicle.
The girl was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The horse also suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated by authorities.
