Man Dies After Being Hit by Train in Carlsbad

 
CARLSBAD, CA (March 1, 2019) – A coaster train struck and killed a pedestrian Wednesday evening on Tamarack Avenue near Del Mar Bluffs.
 
When deputies responded to the scene around 6 p.m. they found a man with fatal injuries.
 
Per a news report, the coaster train struck the pedestrian at speeds of about 75 mph as he was on the tracks. Officials arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
Authorities are encouraging witnesses to come forward if they know of anything. The sheriff’s department urges those with information to call them at (858) 565-5200.
