Pedestrian Hit, Injured by Driver in Carlsbad near Alga Road
CARLSBAD, CA (February 18, 2019) – A 36-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized Thursday night after being struck by a motorist on El Camino Real.
According to Carlsbad Police Lt. Jeffery Smith, the incident happened around 8:35 p.m., in the 7000 block of El Camino Real. The 36-year-old pedestrian was standing in the northbound lanes of the roadway under unknown circumstances when she was struck by a northbound Nissan sedan, driven by a 50-year-old man.
The pedestrian was shuttled to a nearby hospital with major injuries while the Nissan driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
A preliminary investigation proved that intoxication was not a factor. More on this crash is under investigation.
