Carlos Montes Identified as Fatality in Riverside Avenue Trailer Truck Crash
Rialto, CA (May 15, 2020)– Tuesday evening, 28-year-old Carlos Montes of San Bernardino died in a tractor trailer collision in the 3600 block of Riverside Avenue.
As reported, Montes was first driving south on Riverside Avenue at a high speed when he collided with a tractor trailer.
Subsequently, the accident took place around 6:20pm.
According to the police report, Montes changed lanes, right before the Kenworth tractor exited a driveway.
As a result, the trailer went on to cross over the southbound lanes into the northbound lanes.
Even though Mr. Montes hit his brakes to avoid the collision, his Nissan truck collided with the left-rear side of the trailer.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they found Carlos Montes in the driver’s seat, apparently dead from his injuries.
Unfortunately, the coroner’s office officially pronounced Montes dead at 6:41 pm, about 20 minutes after the accident occurred.
At this time, the Rialto Police Department is still investigating the causes of the accident.
