Carlos Garza Dead in San Diego Car vs Tow Truck Crash on Interstate 5 near Main Street

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 21, 2021) – Friday night, Carlos Garza, 27, died in a two-vehicle accident involving a tow truck on Interstate 5 by the Main Street exit.
 
According to reports, a tow truck had pulled over to the side of Interstate 5 to help another driver.
 
However, at 8:10 p.m., a male driver crashed his car into the stopped tow truck. The rear-end accident occurred on southbound I-5 near the Main Street exit by Barrio Logan.
 
A video revealed that the black Honda Accord was stuck under the flatbed portion of the truck after the high-speed crash. The coroner identified the Honda Driver as Carlos Garza, of San Diego.
 
Meanwhile, the Accord’s engine caught fire after the crash. However, the tow truck driver managed to extinguish it in no time.
 
Also, Caltrans San Diego confirmed that the crash shut down two lanes of southbound traffic on the 5 Freeway.
