Candelaria Hernandez Injured in Merced Car Accident
MERCED, CA (April 15, 2019) – A 45-year-old woman sustained injuries after a big rig broadsided her vehicle on Highway 59.
Candelaria Hernandez of Merced traveled east in a 2006 Nissan Altima on Gerard Avenue around 5:55 p.m. CHP added that she stopped at the stop sign at Highway 59.
However, Hernandez then drove forward and failed to yield the right of way to 45-year-old Jushawn Davis.
Davis, a resident of Gilroy, drove a 2013 Peterbilt tractor-trailer south on the highway. As Hernandez’s car went into the path of the big rig, her car’s driver’s side got struck.
As a result of the collision, one lane closed. Meanwhile, Davis didn’t suffer any injuries.
