CAMARILLO, CA – 1 Dead, 1 Injured in Highway 34 Crash Near East Pleasant Valley Road

Fatal Two-Car Wreck in Camarillo

 
CAMARILLO, CA (January 8, 2019) – A 65-year-old man lost his life Monday morning following a two-car collision on Highway 34 near East Pleasant Valley Road.
 
Around 6:20 a.m., just east of Pleasant Valley Road, a Nissan, driven by a 65-year-old Oxnard man was heading westbound. For unknown reasons, the man allowed the Nissan to veer into the eastbound lanes and collide with a Ford pickup truck.
 
Firefighters arrived shortly after and pronounced the Nissan driver dead at the scene. The 27-year-old man from Oxnard who was operating the Ford suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized.
 
The vehicle sustained severe damage and heavy rain was falling at the time of the crash.
 
Authorities are looking to see whether inclement weather played a role in the collision.
