Dozens Hurt After Multiple Cars Crash in Cajon Pass

 
CAJON PASS, CA (January 17, 2019) – Thirty-five people were injured in a 19-car pileup Wednesday morning on the 15 Freeway near Oak Hill Road.
 
The crash took place along the Cajon Pass on the southbound side of the freeway just after 9 a.m.
 
A preliminary report indicated that 35 people suffered minor to moderate injuries. Most of the patients declined hospitalization and it was unclear how many were brought to a hospital for treatment.
 
There was heavy fog in the area at the time and authorities believe this might have played a role.
 
Among the vehicles involved were a FedEx delivery truck and several big rigs. Many of the cars sustained extensive damage, according to news footage.
 
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
