Burlington Man Nicholas Aceves Dies in Interstate 5 Rear-End Crash [Arlington, WA]

I-5 Fatal Box Truck Crash Injures Tacoma Woman

Arlington, WA (April 7, 2022) – On Wednesday morning, a Burlington man, Nicholas Aceves, 22, died in a rear-end collision on Interstate 5.

The fatal box truck versus an attenuator truck crash happened minutes after 10 a.m., north of of the Stillaguamish River bridge.

“It appears as though the attenuator truck was setting up a lane closure for construction farther south of the incident,” says trooper Jacob Kennett.

A Tacoma woman, 34, was working on the back of the parked attenuator truck when the box truck driven by Aceves rear-ended it.

The impact of the crash threw the woman into the highway median. Right away, the paramedics rushed her to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment.

However, Nicholas Aceves lost his life at the crash scene.
