1 Person Dead in El Paso Pedestrian Accident on Pueblo Nuevo Cir near Montwood Drive

EL PASO, TX (July 23, 2024) – Sunday morning, a brutal pedestrian crash on Pueblo Nuevo Cir near Montwood Drive killed one person.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 8:41 a.m. at the 11800 block of Pueblo Nuevo, near Montwood Drive and Saul Kleinfeld.

According to the El Paso Police Department, an unoccupied SUV that was in reverse struck its own driver who exited the vehicle without putting it into park. Then, a pedestrian attempted to aid the driver but was also struck by the vehicle. Also, the SUV continued traveling and struck a utility trailer.

Paramedics pronounced the 90-year-old male driver of the SUV, dead at the scene. Then, responders transported the 81-year-old male pedestrian to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the El Paso Police Department continued to investigate the crash.
