1 Dead in Houston Pedestrian Crash on 900 Franklin Street

HOUSTON, TX (September 23, 2023) – Friday, a brutal pedestrian accident on 900 Franklin Street killed 1 person.

According to reports, the crash occurred at around 7:00 p.m.

The incident happened when a woman out with her friends lost consciousness and fell to the street. Then, she was hit by a passing 18-wheeler in the 900 block of Franklin Street near Travis. After the crash, the truck driver who appeared to be unaware that anyone was hit fled and drove away from the scene.

After the crash, the female victim in her 20s succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Officers noted that the driver didn’t appear to be trying to flee the scene and may have been unaware of what happened.

Officers described the involved vehicle as a very new truck that was gray in the front with a clear white trailer.

Also, the authorities urged whichever company may own the truck to call HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division.

Also, police closed the intersection as photos and measurements were being taken.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
