1 Dead in Oceanside Motorcycle Accident on State Route 78 and Interstate 5

OCEANSIDE, CA (August 10, 2023) – Sunday, a brutal motorcycle crash on State Route 78 and Interstate 5 killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at around 11:01 p.m. on westbound State Route 78, approaching the Interstate 5 northbound transition ramp.

Officers from the Oceanside Area office came to reports of a motorcycle crash on westbound SR-78.

Upon their arrival, they located a 29-year-old male from Oceanside who had been riding a 2012 Harley Davidson when the motorcycle went down in traffic lanes.

Then, a 69-year-old San Diego man driving a Mitsubishi Outlander approached the transition ramp and crashed with the rider.

As a result, responders transported the rider to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi driver suffered no injuries in the crash.

Meanwhile, the authorities do not suspect that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.

Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone who has information or may
