1 Dead in Wheatland Pedestrian Accident on Forty Mile Road and Highway 65
WHEATLAND, CA (May 16, 2023) – Saturday morning, a brutal hit-and-run crash on Forty Mile Road and Highway 65 killed 1 person.
The incident happened at about 10:40 a.m. on Forty Mile Road and Highway 65 near the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
When the authorities arrived at the scene, they found a man’s body on the east shoulder of Forty Mile Road, just south of Highway 65.
CHP said that the man was possibly struck by a vehicle Friday evening. They also believe that the suspect vehicle was a 2016 or newer white Chevrolet Malibu. After the crash, the driver fled the crash scene.
Furthermore, they urged witnesses or has information about it to contact Officer Harbour or Officer Quigley at 530-645-6200.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
