1 Dead in Austin Pedestrian Accident on 7th Street and Red River Street

AUSTIN, TX (December 12, 2023) – Early Monday, a brutal hit-and-run crash on 7th Street and Red River Street killed 1 person.

The incident happened when the driver of a lifted white pickup truck struck a pedestrian on 7th Street and Red River Street. However, the driver fled the scene and remained at large.

Meanwhile, the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

“At this time we have witness statements that we’re trying to verify, so we don’t have exactly that definitive answer yet,” APD Corporal Paul Murray said.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
