SAN DIEGO, CA (June 15, 2023) – Wednesday night, a brutal fiery vehicle accident on State Route 94 near Cochera Via Drive killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 7:15 p.m. on state Route 94 near Cochera Via Drive in Barrett Junction.

According to Public Information Officer Thomas Shoots, the fire had spread to nearby brush.

Upon the crews’ arrival, they located one person dead and another with injuries. Thus, paramedics transported the second victim to Grossmont Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

California Highway Patrol also shut down a stretch of SR-94 for an investigation. Moreover, authorities advised drivers to avoid the area.
