Brian Cooper Dies in Pedestrian Collision on 5 Freeway Near Milepost 213
STANWOOD, WA (January 3, 2019) – A 35-year-old Snohomish County man lost his life Sunday after being struck by several drivers on the 5 South Freeway near Milepost 213.
According to the Washington State Police, Brian Cooper of Stanwood was fatally struck by multiple cars as he darted across the 5 South Freeway around 6 p.m.
It was not clear why the man was on the freeway, to begin with. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol or drugs were involved in this crash. All three drivers, including a motorist of a Volkswagen Jetta, stopped at the scene and were questioned by authorities.
Per Trooper Heather Axtman, no charges will be filed.
