Brandon Dominguez Arrested, Man Hospitalized After Car Accident in Modesto
MODESTO, CA (March 31, 2019) – Saturday morning, a man was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Oakdale Road near Orangeburg Avenue.
Around 2:00 a.m., 28-year-old Brandon Dominguez from Newark, was driving a 1995 white Lexus when he ran a red light at the intersection. There, he struck a 2015 Infiniti QX60, driven by an unidentified 50-year-old Modesto man.
The Infiniti was found overturned upon officers arrival. The driver also had to be extricated from his vehicle due to the impact of the collision. He was then taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation of minor injuries. However, his current medical condition is unclear at this time.
Witnesses allegedly saw Dominguez attempting to leave the scene following the crash. He was found walking more than half a mile away from the scene. Law enforcement eventually arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In addition, he was charged with hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license, and resisting arrest.
Furthermore, the surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No more details have been released at this time.
