Crystal Cove State Park Officer Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (July 31, 2019) – Authorities identified 41-year-old Brad Infanger as the pedestrian fatally struck by a state-owned truck at East Coast Highway and Reef Point Drive.
According to the Newport Beach Police Department, the incident happened near Crystal Cove State Park, at about 10:00 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a westbound vehicle driven by a Crystal Cove SP employee struck the victim.
Emergency responders pronounced Infanger dead at the scene. It is unknown whether or not he was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. An autopsy is expected later this week, according to the coroner’s office.
No arrests have been made, as authorities continue to investigate the fatal incident.
