Car Plunges Off Bodega Bay Cliff in Deadly Fiery Crash
BODEGA BAY, CA (December 24, 2018) – One person was killed following a fiery crash early Monday morning in Bodega Bay.
The fatal crash happened around 12:38 a.m. on Highway 1 near the Salmon Creek Beach Ranger Station.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a car went off a cliff on the highway and caught fire. The Bodega Fire Department and Monte Rio Fire Department responded to the scene and put the fire out.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found dead inside the burning car.
The name, age and town of residence of the deceased were not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
The southbound lanes of Highway 1 were closed for the on-scene investigation.
