Bill Wagner Fatally Struck by Motorist on North Marina Drive Near Sea Wind Place
SALTON CITY, CA (December 26, 2018) – A 91-year-old Salton City man was killed on Dec. 18 after being struck by a driver while biking along North Marina Drive near Sea Wind Place.
The deadly collision is still under active investigation. According to news reports, Bill William Wagner was riding his gray Univega Range Rover bicycle westbound on North Marina Drive along the roadway when a female driver in a 2001 Ford Focus heading westbound on North Marina Drive began passing the bicyclist on the left. While traveling at speeds of approximately 35 mph, the vehicle’s right front corner struck the rear of the bicycle, causing the 91-year-old man to fall off the bike.
Paramedics responded to the scene just after the 2:51 p.m. call and pronounced Wagner dead. The 30-year old Salton City woman driving the Ford was not arrested.
