Car and Bicyclist Collide in Berkeley

 
BERKELEY, CA (June 27, 2019) – A man suffered serious injuries in Sunday’s bicycle collision at Shattuck Avenue and Cedar Street.
 
According to Berkeley Police spokesman Officer Byron White, the incident befell around 11:35 p.m. Police officers responded to the scene to find a bicyclist and a vehicle involved in the crash.
 
Paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the 24-year-old Berkeley man to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old Berkeley driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigations.
 
In their investigation, police learned that the westbound cyclist collided with the eastbound driver as he attempted a left-hand turn onto Shattuck Avenue from Cedar Street. However, at this time, detectives are determining where the fault lies and other outstanding details.
