Bicycle Rider Struck and Killed by Car at El Camino Avenue and Landwood Way

 
CARMICHAEL, CA (June 1, 2019) – A bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle on El Camino Avenue, Saturday evening. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Landwood Way, at about 8:30 PM. The bicyclist attempted to cross El Camino Avenue without stopping for traffic when an eastbound car hit the rider near the intersection.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Authorities ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the fatal accident. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
