Person Hospitalized Following Bicycle Accident in Sunnyvale

 
SUNNYVALE, CA (July 26, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and injured by a driver at Dunford Way and Lochinvar Avenue, Thursday afternoon.
 
According to reports, the crash took place in the area around 4:30 p.m. A driver of a Honda struck and injured a bicyclist near the area of AppleSeed Montessori School.
 
The unidentified bicyclist was believed to be in his 60s. Furthermore, there has been no update on his current condition at this time. However, medics say he suffered major injuries.
 
California State Officials arrived shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.
 
In addition, officers also say the unidentified Honda driver cooperated with officials and the investigation.
 
Police later learned that neither alcohol nor drugs played a factor in the crash; however, they currently plan to further investigate the details of the crash.
 
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief period of time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
