Bernadette Patrick Fatally Struck by Michael Jefferson on Highway 53 Near Lakeshore Drive

 
CLEARLAKE, CA (December 13, 2018) – A 31-year-old woman perished Monday night following a pedestrian crash along Highway 53 near Lake Shore Drive.
 
The victim was identified by the Lake County authorities as Bernadette Marie Patrick, of Clearlake.
 
The incident unfolded around 7:50 p.m. Michael Jefferson, 28, of Clearlake, was heading southbound in the four-lane highway of Highway 53 when his 1995 Nissan Maxima struck Patrick, police detailed.
 
It appeared Patrick was walking westbound across the highway outside of a marked crosswalk. Due to the severity of her injuries, the 31-year old woman died in the crash. It was also said that Patrick might have been hit by at least one car.
 
An investigation of this deadly incident is underway since the details are unclear.
