Passenger Injured in Stockdale Highway Fatal Crash
Bakersfield, CA (March 19, 2022) – On Friday, 24-year-old Bernabe Lopez Garcia of Arvin lost his life in a DUI crash on Stockdale Highway.
Officers responded to the crash scene minutes before 2 a.m. west of Enos Lane.
When they arrived, officers found a big rig and another vehicle blocking both of the lanes of Stockdale Highway.
According to the investigators, the semi-truck was traveling eastbound when the other vehicle driven by Garcia drifted on the big rig’s lane. As a result, the two vehicles collided.
Unfortunately, Garcia died at the crash scene while a passenger sustained major injuries.
On the other hand, the big rig’s driver did not suffer injuries from the incident.
Moreover, officers did not specify who of the two drivers they suspect of DUI. No arrests were made on this crash.
