Pedestrian Hospitalized in Berkeley Crash
BERKELEY, CA (February 7, 2019) – A 26-year-old Berkeley woman suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a vehicle on Martin Luther King Jr Way near Parker Street Tuesday evening.
The incident happened around 6:10 p.m. when the 26-year-old woman was crossing the street at the intersection and was hit by a southbound vehicle.
The victim sustained injuries to her arm and head and was soon transported to a local hospital for treatment. The 74-year-old Oakland driver stayed at the scene and was questioned by officers.
An investigation is underway to determine who was at fault and whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time.
If we all do our part in paying attention, staying alert and driving and walking safely, the streets would be safer. Accidents happen at any time and it’s important that we never assume anyone is safe. Always look out for trouble and be defensive.
