One Injured, Benjamin Mondragon Arrested in Hit-and-Run Crash on US Highway 395 [Adelanto, CA]

Authorities Book Benjamin Mondragon Following US Highway 395 Hit-and-Run Accident

 
Adelanto, CA (February 19, 2021) – On Thursday, authorities arrested 31-year-old Benjamin Mondragon of Lucerne Valley for injuring a man in a hit-and-run crash on US Highway 395.
 
The incident took place at 7:06 am at the intersection with Air Expressway which involved a 2002 Dodge Truck and 2003 Toyota Corolla.
 
Mondragon was driving the Dodge westbound on Air Expressway approaching US Highway 395. He failed to stop at the red light and crashed with the southbound Corolla.
 
Unfortunately, the 35-year-old Toyota male driver was pinned inside his vehicle.
 
Right away, firefighters used the jaws of life to rescue the pinned man. Then, a helicopter airlifted him to an out-of-area trauma center.
 
Ultimately, reports said the victim suffered major injuries.
 
Moreover, Mondragon and three male adults inside his truck ran from the scene. However, police later located all four of them in the area.
 
Consequently, authorities arrested Mondragon for 20001(A) Hit and Run Causing Death or Injury. Then, they booked him at High Desert Detention Center.
 
Mondragon is currently being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled for arraignment on February 22nd.
