Pedestrian Dies in Bakersfield Crash
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 7, 2019) – A Tuesday morning pedestrian crash at Calloway Drive and Rosedale Highway left a man in a wheelchair with fatal injuries.
The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. when an adult male in a wheelchair was struck by a car while trying to cross the intersection.
The Kern County Fire Department and Hall Ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene to find the man with moderate injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where, despite life-saving efforts, he died.
The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative with authorities. Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the collision, per reports.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the identity of the man.
