Deadly Evening Wreck on China Grade Loop in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 11, 2019) – Two people were killed and another one was badly injured following a two-vehicle collision Monday evening in Bakersfield.
The fatal crash happened around 9:33 p.m. at the intersection of China Grade Loop and Manor Street.
According to the CHP, a white Ford pickup truck and a Dodge Charger were involved. The impact of the crash pushed the Ford into a brick wall. The Charger hit a power pole, splitting the car in half.
Two people in the Charger were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were not immediately available pending notification of their family members.
The driver of the Ford sustained major injuries and was hospitalized in an unknown condition.
Both eastbound and westbound China Grade Loop was closed for the on-scene investigation.
