Charles Feezel Dead in Berkeley Accident, $50,000 Reward for Information on Hit and Run Assailant
BERKELEY, CA (June 16, 2021) – A $50,000 reward is being offered for anyone with information on the June hit-and-run crash that killed Charles Feezel, 50.
According to the authorities, the incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. Moreover, it occurred in the 3000 block of Telegraph Avenue between Webster Street and Ashby Avenue.
A northbound lowered, dark-colored mid-1990s sedan with tinted windows, possibly a Nissan Altima, fatally struck Feezel. Also, authorities believe that the man was in some kind of mental health crisis and had laid down in the roadway when the incident happened.
Moreover, responders transported the victim to a hospital with serious injuries. He died 12 days later.
Furthermore, the suspect vehicle fled the scene after the crash without stopping.
Meanwhile, officials ask anyone with information about the crash to contact the Berkeley Police Department’s traffic unit at 510-981-5980.
In a news release mentioning the $50,000 reward, police urged for the public’s assistance to provide information about the death in order to offer Feezel’s family closure. “Even the smallest detail could be critical in solving this crime,” the release claimed.
Dealing With Similar Incidents
In today’s current state of affairs, taking strolls outdoors is becoming the new normal. With this, so does the likelihood of deadly accidents involving pedestrians.
Car accidents are far more common than pedestrian accidents. However, there is still reason to be wary when traveling on foot.
“Pedestrian accidents do not occur as much as vehicle accidents. However, pedestrian accidents tend to include more serious injuries,” Tyler Toomey said. He is a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
