Rodriguez Street Accident Kills Female Pedestrian
Watsonville, CA (February 3, 2023) – Just before midnight on January 6, Aubrey Newell, 28, sustained fatal injuries following a Main Street pedestrian accident.
Newell was struck by a passing car while walking outside of a crosswalk near Rodriguez Street.
The vehicle driver reportedly did not see the victim before the accident. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers’ investigation.
Moreover, Watsonville Police Department spokesperson Michelle Pulido said no arrests were made in the case.
She added that speed, alcohol, and drugs were not considered factors in the Rodriguez Street accident, and that they are waiting for the final victim toxicology results.
