Man Dies in San Francisco After Getting Hit by Car on 280 Freeway
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 5, 2019) – An assault suspect died Thursday when a car on 280 Freeway stuck him near Geneva Avenue.
According to reports, police responded to a call about an assault at Muni’s Balboa Station around 4:57 p.m. However, when officers arrived, they found the suspect trying to flee.
The unidentified male ran onto the northbound 280 Freeway and tried running across the Geneva Avenue off-ramp when a car struck him.
However, the driver of the vehicle that struck the suspect remained at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
California Highway Patrol responded to handle the fatal freeway collision. Due to the accident, crews were forced to shut down all northbound 280 Freeway lanes.
Police did not release any other information regarding the details of the accident. However, an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
