Fatal Boyle Heights Rollover Crash Leaves Ashley Rodriguez and Bryan Ponce Dead
Boyle Heights, CA (November 22, 2020) – On Friday, Ashley Rodriguez of Los Angeles and Bryan Ponce of Highland Park, both 18 years old, died in a rollover crash on the 5 Freeway.
The Boyle Heights accident took place at about 8:10 p.m. west of Marietta Street and the 10 Freeway.
A Honda Accord traveling north on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway drifted off-road and went up the embankment south of the freeway and overturned.
Ponce was driving the vehicle while Rodriguez was the front seat passenger. They were thrown from the vehicle and into the No. 1 lane of the Santa Monica Freeway.
The paramedics pronounced both of them dead at the 5 Freeway crash scene.
Meanwhile, the rescuers took the teenager in the back seat of the vehicle to a hospital to be evaluated.
