ARDEN ARCADE, CA – Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Driver on Watt Avenue Near Arden Way

Fatal Pedestrian Accident Reported in Arden Arcade

 
ARDEN ARCADE, CA (February 11, 2019) – A 62-year-old man lost his life Thursday evening after being hit by a motorist on Watt Avenue near Arden Way.
 
California Highway Patrol responded to calls of a pedestrian stumbling in the roadway around 7:22 p.m. Arriving CHP officers found the 62-year-old man with severe injuries lying in the far-left lane of northbound Watt Avenue. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by Sacramento Metropolitan fire district personnel.
 
The involved driver, a 64-year-old Sacramento man, stayed on site and was questioned by officers. The driver was unharmed, and drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash.
 
In the preliminary investigation, investigators determined that the man was walking eastbound across Watt Avenue when he was hit. His identity will be released once the next of kin has been notified.
 
In the meantime, the CHP North Sacramento office is urging the public to call 916-348-2237 if they have any insight into this fatal crash.
