Anthony Lucero of Oakdale Dies in DUI Crash on Crows Landing Road [Turlock, CA]

Turlock, CA (October 05, 2021) – On Monday, 26-year-old Oakdale man, Anthony Lucero, dies in a DUI crash on Crows Landing Road.

The fatal crash took place at 5:47 a.m. near Clausen Road, between the cities of Turlock and Patterson.

Officers said Lucero and another man were southbound when their vehicle, a Dodge Ram, became disabled.

It is not clear who was driving the vehicle. Lucero got out and started crossing the street when he was struck by the southbound minivan. 

Immediately, rescuers took Lucero to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, where the officers pronounced him dead.

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old Modesto man, driver of the minivan remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The authorities said drugs and/or alcohol use has been ruled out for the driver of the minivan.

Though, a toxicology test needs to be done to determine if Lucero was under the influence.
