Antar Plummer and Isiah Hendricks Hospitalized after Wrong-Way Ferndale Car Collision
FERNDALE, WA (July 21, 2019) – Sunday morning, 34-Year-Old Antar Plummer and 19-Year-Old Isiah Hendricks sustained injuries after a car accident on 5 Freeway.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened around 7:35 AM near Main Street. As per reports, Plummer drove a 2001 Lexus LS southbound on the northbound lanes. In addition, Hendricks drove a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit northbound when he collided head-on with the Lexus. As a result, it caused the Volkswagen to hit a 2007 Toyota Corolla, driven by 36-year-old Paul Bach. Bach also traveled northbound on the freeway.
Whatcom Fire District extricated one victim from their vehicle. Paramedics transported Plummer and Henricks to Peacehealth St Joseph Medical Center for treatment and evaluation. Their current medical condition is unknown at this time. It is unknown if Bach sustained injuries.
Troopers stated they were in the process of determining if drugs and alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
The surrounding area closed for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened at about 10:20 AM. Police did not announce further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
