Anna Rodriguez Killed, Edwin Sebastian Survives Fatal Solo-Car Wreck on South Golden State Boulevard at East American Avenue

 
SELMA, CA (January 2, 2019) – A 39-year-old woman lost her life Monday in a possible DUI crash on South Golden State Boulevard at East American Avenue.
 
Anna Rodriguez had just turned 39 and was out late Sunday with 28-year-old Edwin Sebastian.
 
Around 2 a.m. Monday, Rodriguez was riding as a passenger in her own car – a Chrysler which she had just bought. Sebastian was behind the wheel when he ran a stop sign that caused the vehicle to overturn and fly into the air about 30 or 40 feet before landing. She died at the scene and Sebastian survived and was hospitalized with unknown injuries.
 
Rodriguez, a certified nursing assistant and mother of five, is being remembered by those closest to her, who described her as a woman with a great sense of humor.
 
Authorities believe impairment and speed may have played a role in the crash, but an ongoing investigation continues.
