1 Person Dead in Bexar County Pedestrian Accident on 4030 New Mathis Road

BEXAR COUNTY, TX (October 20, 2024) – Saturday morning, Angele Southwell died in a brutal pedestrian crash on 4030 New Mathis Road.

Reports said that the incident happened around  1:00 a.m. in the 4030 block of New Mathis Road.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle struck two female pedestrians who were both crossing the roadway. Then, the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders transported both victims to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where one of the patients, identified as 62-year-old Southwell, was later pronounced dead.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office continued to investigate the crash.
